I used to love the Strugatskis when I lived in Russia! I didn't realize that they were read by anyone outside of Russia and didn't even know they had been translated. Have you read the classic "Monday starts on a Saturday"?

I guess I haven't. It may even not have been tranlated to Finnish, - google couldn't find anything. Maybe I can find English version, there may be that book in Russian in our public library, but that dousn't hlep me much...There is lots on Russian people living and working in Helsinki, that's why they are slowly getting more novels in Russian.

BTW have you read Jan Guillou's The Crusades Trilogy? I guess it would be fun reading while living in Sweden - with map of Sweden at hand.

No, I haven't. I keep looking at Guillou's books in bookstores and thinking about getting one, but still haven't. Perhaps it's time. (Currently re-reading Borges's "Ficciones", a fantastic short story collection!)
