I use an old base-plate compass, so don't have to worry about how a thumb compass fits. :-)

Gloves have saved me from quite a bit more damage, and that's just in the few months I've been wearing them. Wish I'd started sooner. And with no fingertips, they are comfortable even on warm days.

Not sure what I'll do when it gets colder, though I imagine there are padded bike gloves with full covering for the fingers, just have to get a pair.

Yep, there are those; a bit more expensive than the others.

I love my thumb compass; haven't used a baseplate in more than 15 years. :-)
