| Finally I have a Bristol friend to go biking with. Matt's looking after Tom's mtb for a while so we went to play bikes on the Timberland Trail at Ashton Court. Great fun.
I was supposed to be doing the Two Moors Challenge double Long-O this weekend but the knee tells me otherwise. Two weeks off running, and the first free weekend I've had at home this year has allowed me time to think. I've realised how much I miss the New Forest and my old Tuesday night biking and how much I love my bike. Since I've been in Bristol running has become an obsession and has taken over me and my spare time, but biking on last week's holiday and today have reminded me how much I enjoy cross country biking. I haven't actually missed running at all this last fortnight and the prospect of another week with no running doesn't scare me like it has done every other time I've been forced to stop in the last 21 months. | How to make a start at losing those 4 kilos: Shed some skin.
Find wet slippy tarmac, cycle at 12 mph into a corner, lose front wheel traction, ensure bare flesh takes the impact on the ground as you slide through the bend. Useful for shedding weight while not damaging clothing or equipment. A big middle finger to the old man on his bike who watched me fall and who just cycled past, looking at me sprawled out on the ground licking my wounds. Thanks for the concern, you old git. | ||
