Orienteering race 41:46 [4] 7.73 km (5:24 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons 212s

Scottish champs relay. Jack hadn't had the best preparation and so wasn't feeling too great and I went out a little bit down. Quickly realised my legs were still pretty dead from yesterday. Running was pretty slow and a few misses too didn't help. Missed 5 as I was looking ahead and failed to notice myself running over the path just before the pit and so overshot fairly massively. Also a few bad routes running much further round than necessary on a few.

Up and down. A long way to the start and left too late ment I was doing sub 4s to the start which wasn't ideal.

Scottish champs on Gullane. Tried something different today in that I started off at a much steadier pace than normal and tried to hold the bonk off. Was mostly successful but then I was still slow. Think I wasn't running fast enough so didn't work really. A few misses, probably about 5 minutes lost total and a reasonably enjoyable race.

Tranent sprint. Not a very technical race and was essentially flat out running with a few routes that were 45/55. 1 or 2 sub optimum routes but otherwise unsurprisingly just not running as fast as the others.

Persuaded into a big lap of the meadows by Jack and Tam. Bit tired after 90 minutes of football vs the Haries.

Out to the meadows and back again.

Running race 10:37 [5] 3.2 km (3:19 / km)
shoes: Nike Revolution 3

2 mile race round the meadows. Went out too hard, even hit the front for a little for a laugh and paid for it a few hundred metres later as everyone piled past. Mark came past at the 1 mile point and then #PurkovsP Vol.2 began. Upped the pace to stick with him and managed it until the home straight where he had a little more than me left and pulled away for a win by a few seconds. Purko 2 - 0 P.

Late ish found the meadows. Met Colm and Rona coming back from their more social activities and stopped to chat with them for like 20 minutes.

Nice round the hermitage with the flat. Shoulder stitch towards the end which wasn't pleasant. Manged to keep running though as Tam was just behind with blood streaming down his face after a nose bleed making him look rather scary.
