Orienteering 38:03 [4] 6.59 km (5:46 / km) +225m 4:56 / km

Turkey race #3 Betheca - Same as Friday but now with a little bit more light, made it a hell of a lot easier! Good flow and feeling strong in terrain and on the ups which was nice! Compass wobble at the start 10s then reenterant marked weirdly on the map compared to its actual location so 25s slip at the end.

Epic run with Jack,Matt and Harry from ODG picking off some naughty peaks. Nice and snowy so feeling pretty shafted by the end, pub lunch was very much needed.

Betheca Moor/ Something Wood Night-O

Controls out for this so quite nice to have the confirmation of being in the right place. Some good,some bad. O-ing better when taking more frequent map checks and doing some classic thumbing. Nice bit of green forest to start with and then on to the open moor. Legs a bit tired after yest.

Good session with Ambleside AC on the 'track' i.e 300m kenyan loop. The first session on a hard packed ground for a long time and definitely felt like I was missing some leg turnover. Pretty well paced though and a good one in the bag.

Night-O with Hollie.

2 x Downhill courses on summerhouse knott which was very nice and went good and then on to High Dam for some old school orienteering on a veryyyy old map, did alternate controls which ended up in some jokes orienteering because the scale was 1:15000 and the map was rather shite but at least first part of the session was decent enough. Head torch okay but no swenor.

Horrid conditions - torrential rain and trails were waterlogged to fuck. Got it done though.

Warm up and shortened cool down as soaked through so didn't want to risk getting cold and ill.

Monday Jan 1, 2018 #

NY cruise around the seat, felt nice n floaty. Didn't stay out late so no hangover, praise the lord. In new road shoes (nike pegs) which felt good, still loking foward to getting insoles as could feel right leg a bit on the roads.
