Tatilta Creek. I couldn't sleep and left Benalla at 6:00 to be one of the first starters in Course 3. Lovely area, but l haven't run for ages and bushwalking just doesn't seem to do it. I couldn't run for the first half and was terribly slow. I felt better about 1/2 way around and got going. I might need to do something drastic before SA.
I drove back to Melb via Trentham in the afternoon and there was quite a bit of snow on the roadside. Freezing day.

More rogaine checking - another 10 controls. This time l ventured into remote terrain with some fabulous scenery. Ian H was in the area visiting landholders and l texted him on arrival at each control, so he knew where l was. We then climbed Mt Pilot together and got a cup of tea from a generous landholder. I had different boots on today and didn't slip at all. A lovely day - despite the risks, l really enjoy bushwalking by myself.
