Run 1:06:00 [3] 9.0 km (7:20 / km)

Run around the river at Shepparton in a howling gale - fast in one direction and slow the other way. I thought there was a fire nearby but it turned out to be a large dust storm approaching. A large flock of cockatoos was clinging to the trees and very very noisy noisy. Pretty horrible day in the NE.

Run 37:43 [3] 5.4 km (6:59 / km)

Woke to a headache (probably from staring at a blue screen too much this week) and decided to try and run it out. Ran around Benalla lake and gardens, and felt a bit better afterwards. It is terribly dry here.

Run (Street O) 31:00 [3] 4.05 km (7:39 / km)

Final summer series at Maroondah Triangle. I still feel tired from the weekend and both knees are a bit tender. Lucky it was only a short run. It was followed by the scout BBQ and annual presentation. I came second in Class C3 after being pipped at the post in the last race by a young bloke who is a newcomer. I have to win C3 to progress to C2, but newcomers keep starting there and beating me. Looks like I'll be stuck in C3 forever!

Orienteering (Melbourne Sprint Weekend) 16:27 [3] 2.4 km (6:51 / km)

Event 5 Royal Park. I worked on the start so started late. Great course through the trees. Loved it. 5th.

Orienteering (Melbourne Sprint Weekend) 15:30 [3] 2.28 km (6:48 / km)

Keilor Secondary College. I started well, winning three out of four of the early legs, probably starting too fast. Then it all fell apart. I had no legs for the long legs. Then l overshot one control badly, went to 10 before 9, took the long route rather than run through the start and staggered down the finish shuts. Bit of a disaster really. I think l was tired by this stage and could feel a sore throat coming on, on the way home. Luckily only the best 5 races counted and l came 4th overall in W60. Pretty happy with that. Great long weekend!
