Trail Run 15:00 [2]

Yup, logging it. Was at Camp Fortune helping xc zone with a trail running video shoot --- a collection of what NOT to do versus what to do. Dave asked me to dress up in all lululemon gear.... My role in the film was to be Miss Anti-lululemon - someone who barrels through everything, not afraid to get wet, dirty, muddy with forceful, flying arms etc. (or as Relentless coined - Miss LuluSOURlemons) Relentless got to play Mr. All-Time Worst-Heel-Striker, and other roles included Miss Princess Grace (takes ridiculously small steps and avoids anything technical); Mr. Hunched-over etc.

Sadly, I had to leave early to scoot home, to help my friend with a photo shoot. Apparently, today was THE day for various Shoots for me!

Super fun, wish I hadn't had to leave early, can't wait to see the finished product - will share it if I can!!

in the Gats from P17, saw some of the of the orienteers out. Ran for just over an hour before I met up with Stef and SJ for a hike. Couldn't seem to get my zen on being out there by myself (sadly!), so was happy for the company.

After bailing on the "Spring Chicken" Mtb race in Beachburg, I ended up spending most of the day helping Stef with house stuff and preparing for KarateChop's birthday party. I made sure to do a couple of chinups/pullups every time I walked by their bar in the doorway. Exhausted myself enough that I could barely do one by the end. I think I needed a "rest day".

I am super impressed with this instructor, she really knows her stuff and pushes us which is pretty awesome for yoga at work. Its just too bad we can't get some serious heat in the studio...I am going to suggest we take it outside on those hot days. We did lots of inversions today - fun!

More technical work. There was a new addition to the group so I volunteered to paddle a more tippy boat as we ran out of the other ones. A couple of close calls but to be expected.

Wrist adjustment is happening..s l o w l y but I am seeing progress.

We did 2min on 1 min off of technical focus and 1 min on 70% intensity.

Other tips - reach from the back of the armpit.

Quick change of footwear and clothing and ran from LS's (gotta give her a nickname) to work with pack.

From work to LS's place with pack- WINDY! When I ran in the morning, I noticed two males "hanging" out on a grassy knoll - sitting in camp chairs with something in their hands (A book?) - they hadn't moved an inch when I ran by on the way back so I had to ask them what they were doing. Turns out, they are paid city employees that count cars that go by all day (The "book" was their portable counter. That is up there for most BORING job. At least they have each other to talk to although it didn't seem like they were.

MTB (Mad skillz) 1:00:00 [2]

I was supposed to meet up with a group for a KL ride but ended up getting there a little late and didn't have any of their cells and no smartphone to respond to their messages to inform them.

But I actually think it was for the best. I've written down a little training program for the next few months and it includes "skills mtb rides". I've realized unless I am riding with someone with this very focus, I am better off to do these on my own so I can go and practice certain parts over and over again and not worry about staying together.

Soo off I went, riding all ofl the easy stuff to warm-up and get used to riding this terrain. Then I went and hit the "M loop" which has one section that is a little tricky for me. As they say, third time's a charm - I did it all cleanly the third time. Now if I could just do the same in the other direction! ( It has one pretty technical uphill that I am not sure I'll ever be able to get).

Finished the ride doing some more of the easier trying to focus on keeping momentum up in places where I tend to lose it.

It was a bit windy and had cooled down but I was grateful as the bugs weren't an issue - much better for when I stop and study a line that I should try!

Trail run with XC Zone - so good to run with them as it has been a while. 36 to foreplay and other trails that I think are unnamed ( or I don't know their name!). Followed up with a bite at Chelsea pub - great band and we sat at the bar.
