Note

I didn't think a Kansas loss to a very good West Virginia team was going to be enough, and it wasn't.

Wyoming did a pretty good job of managing a loss to Hawaii, even though Hawaii had a real advantage in that they had to start a freshman quarterback in lieu of their very, very good 1st string quarterback, who was out with some undisclosed injury. To counter the newbie, Wyoming dropped what would have been a pick 6 interception, dropped a pass in the end zone that would have been a touchdown, and threw in a very savvy taunting penalty that enabled Hawaii to continue a drive to score the winning touchdown with under two minutes to go. And then, to top things off, Wyoming spiked the ball with a second left to end the game rather than attempting a TD pass from about 15 yards out. And was it good enough? I didn't know, but now I do as the updated rankings are out, and Wyoming makes its entry into the Bottom 25 at #22.

But how about UConn!!! Looking really terrific at #1! Many people have long predicted--strangely? hopefully?--that the future of college football lies in Connecticut, and it looks like the future is now with us.

Note

Today was practically a repeat of yesterday, maybe just a tad cooler. Totally gray skies with not even a hint of sun. The workout was practically a repeat as well, except that I ran longer (just under 2 hours) and the fog was thicker. Didn't even see any birds today--it was really desolation up there, out there. Conditions underfoot: fast grass.

I haven't seen any official confirmation of it, but it looks like the Pilot Hill land acquisition is going to go through, and that it will be accomplished by a land swap.
