Note
The glorious mixtures of cloud cover and fog could not last forever, so after 3 days of grayish delight, the sun is back out today and hard at work trying to melt a portion of ice off the streets here in town. (The Arctic may be missing some ice, but we are not.) Though I will admit that part of me is rooting for the sun; I don't think I got out once on my bike during January, and it would be fine to get a chance to take a tour around town and see what might have been going on for the past 6 weeks or so--and for that, I demand pavement, dry and free of ice.
Note
Pretty surprised to get a late night visitor at my door at about 10:30; who could it be, a lost Santa Claus?
Well, I wish. It was the OUSA Inspection team on a raiding mission, headed up by none other than the notorious, no-nonsense, never-say-no-to-her President of OUSA herself. They demanded to see *all* of LROC's controls and control keeping records, which took them unending hours to go through.
They finally finished up and left just before the sun was rising, and after issuing a ticket with fines totally $533.47 for "unauthorized continued use of obsolete pin punch technologies", and an additional citation for "suspected of having had in our possession one or more mylar punch cards within a past period of 14 months."
