swimming race (Helvellyn Triathlon) 27:42 [3] 1.6 km (17:19 / km)

THE BIG DAY!

Really good swim to start, took a while to get into a rhythm at first as very cold water (13 degrees) and didn't have much chance to swim about, and started off too fast. But got into it. Probably could have been much faster if I'd stayed in the pack more but found it harder to focus there so swam on the outside of the group on my own for most of it. But really enjoyed it and came out smiling :)

Good cycle until about halfway and started getting tired. People passing me all the time all the way through, but that was expected. Worried that I was going to struggle on the Struggle, but started off feeling ok.
However felt horrendous after the first half and started feeling sick. On the last section felt awful as soon as the climb began and felt worse and worse until had to stop halfway up. :'(
Felt really sick and dizzy, managed to get back on again but just had to cycle really slowly back down to Glenrydding and thought I would be sick by the time I got there and wouldn't be able to finish the race.
BUT felt a bit better once off the bike so started jogging out.

Running race (Helvellyn Triathlon) 1:59:53 [4] 15.0 km (8:00 / km) +860m 6:13 / km

The run! Got into a rhythm on the way up, Dad paced me to the top which was a lifesaver and made it SO much easier! Really really enjoyed it and just skipped back down again loving life! So much fun! Felt amazing coming downhill as was overtaking probably about every 10 seconds, must have moved up at least 50 places during the run, and actually felt like I was good at descending for once - clearly no fell runners in this race at all.

Felt so good to finish especially after that bad patch on the bike, best feeling ever :) :)
