Both sad and great news at the same time. Sad that Yurkiw has to walk away from the sport, but amazing to think of what she accomplished as a self-funded athlete. Canada has a big gap in talent on the speed program going into the next Olympics.

Orienteering Race 1:05:21 [3]

It was mega blah in Ottawa this morning, cold and windy and I was thinking about skipping the B-Meet. But really glad I went. Map is small with the NRCan CANMET facilities in the middle of it (hopefully the club could get permission to use it if wanted to). But also had some really nice woods, super mega wide open, not too much rock underneath.

Had some bobbles around a few controls, nothing major, just wasn't hammering fast enough out there. Shins were really sore, although I haven't been running that much.

It was nice temp away from the wind, but really chilly at the finish.
