canoe/kayak 2:00:00 [1]

A few hour paddle at Lac La Peche. Super lovely of course.

Man the woods in the Gats are looking great... I know OOC is focused on developing and using Carp Ridge, but eventually the Gats should host some big races again.

Running warm up/down 40:00 [1]

Warm-up prior and Cool down.

Running intervals 15:00 [5]

TRACK Workout!

Staircase intervals, rather short, but running at 80 second 400m pace quite comfortably.

Not sure if I'll hurt more from the intervals or the As, Bs, and Cs done before.

First time in my life ahead of the Freddy in a workout. He immediately announced he was taking 2 weeks off.

Cycling 1:05:00 [1]

Just a wee spin tonight in Hull and Gatineau.

Would have gone longer but was about to get dark.

Running 1:15:00 [3]

Not really sure on the time so I'll guess it, might be shorter. But, Tues Night Training: Keogan past Huron Cabin to Creme Brule Lookout for the warm-up. Then a work-out of 30 secs on and 30s rest down Burma (aka, wicked trail). Cool down on the parkway home in the rain.

As per usual somehow I manage to get totally alone with a group of around over 75 runners. I think with a couple more workouts I'll be able to hang at the tail of the lead pack, at least that's the plan.

Cycling 1:50:00 [2]

Sunday afternoon ride after a hot day in Ottawa.

I'm really noticing how open the woods of the Gats are mid-summer. I think the canopy has really filled in and there is less and less leaves down below.

Would I want to race a big event mid-summer in Ottawa? No, but spring and fall for sure in the Gats if it was properly mapped.
