riding (Brownhill Creek) 1:05:00 [3] 19.5 km (3:20 / km)

Before heading off to Moon Rocks to put controls out while B&S and Sarah (whose courses people are going to enjoy tomorrow) set up the relays arena. Weather was certainly waaay better than 2 weeks ago!

running 43:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

Had seemed like a long day - and exhausting week - but it was worthwhile going for a sunset run on the singletracks around the nose of Bellevue Heights.

Note

Arrows' club relays' map-and-number-sorting night at mine went more smoothly than usual (because we are paying for Teslin and not having to put paper maps in plastic bags) with much hilarity and pizza.

running 34:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

Up the hill to Bellevue Heights, back down the hill to FMC, before a pharmacists' dinner meeting at which I sang for my supper, so to speak. Legs feeling much better than last night (which I suspect was due to a coldsore and also the impending OSA council meeting...).

running (North Adelaide) 32:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

Couldn't manage to run up the hill at all tonight - it was as if with every step the energy was draining out of my legs - so after attempting it twice I jogged around the uni loop.

After-dinner tramline run. Legs happier tonight than after driving (the manual ute) 4 hours each way on the weekend. But it's always so nice to be out in the mallee...

orienteering race (SA long champs) 1:31:07 [3] 10.4 km (8:46 / km) +230m 7:53 / km
shoes: Inov8 Oroc spikes

I hadn't run @Mulga Valley since the final day of Easter 2015, so figured I may as well get my money's worth by running W21 especially since I won't get to do any other orienteering events between now & Aust Champs. It was an ok course, but could have done with removal of a couple of controls to make some long route choice legs. And I could have done with fresher legs, which were still hammered from AOKTM yesterday. But mainly I was a bit annoyed that my bearings kept on ending up too far right in the vague stuff - reckon I lost about 5 min all up. AK *just* pipped me, Lanita & Liv were 71 & 77 respectively, while Angus and Dante were 60 & 68! They were certainly moving when they passed me...unlike my parents who took 93 min for the 2.5km easy course - but I'm so glad they went out :)

This afternoon's tourist detour was east to Mallett then up past Piltimiappa ruins to Dares Hill again, figuring out the overlap between all past rogaines in that area and wondering if we could ever rogaine on Collinsville sheep station in future - the only time I've done so was my very first rogaine in 1989 (with Kay).
