orienteering race (Hawthorndene Scare-O) 25:40 [4]
shoes: Asics GT-2000

Bridget's Halloween special. Almost wondered if I shouldn't go because my upbringing was to avoid such crass commercialism/meddling with the occult, but I'm glad I went because it was heaps of fun, thanks Miss Anderson. 15 controls were spread across 3 copies of the tiny Apex Park map, and had to be punched in order, so that we needed to keep flipping the map over to work out where the next control actually was...helps if you don't read 1 for where it's actually 11, and little things like that!

But the best bit was some people's costumes; don't know which I liked best: Ethan as the Grim Reaper, complete with scythe which he carried around the entire course, or Tyson in his orienteering tuxed-O, now too big for him so that he made an excellent zombie. There was a rumoured sighting of Jemery Day, but it turned out to be just that Angus was suffering from Old Man Syndrome. He'd clearly studied this video very carefully: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JR19IpqL92M

Also, Adelaide did manage a 35-degree day in October after all.
