Sprint finals at Christianborg Palace (and Parliament) with arena and finish at Bertel Thorvaldsen Plads (plaza), which was an interesting triangular plaza with a circular pond in it (taking up valuable space as arenas go). ;-)

W65A final, 15th starter; 4th when I finsisted but eventually ended up 43rd, out of 79 finishers and one MP. Not bad for my first WMOC A final or any WMOC race for that matter. I did fairly well in the first technical part of the course, but once we got to the open running I fell behind, as is my usual. One mistake (reported by splits printout as 16 sec) at 10 when I turned too early and went farther than necessary around a building.

Saw Glen finish; saw Samantha Saeger finish tied for first place! Nice return from having a baby!

Talked to or noticed: BBrooke, Soupbone, Sharon, Sverre F, Sam Saeger, Greg Balter, Vladimir G, Rich Gaylord, the Kraghts, Marie Josee and Chuck Spaulding, Jeff and Judy (and Sofie, briefly) and maybe one or two I don't recall. Missed the Neuburgers again (I know they're here but they're on a different schedule apparently).

Finished two places behind GBR's Lynne Walker who should have had a much better time (big error on an early control); spoke to Miriam Rosen when she was in 3rd place (down to 22nd at the end). I got to see the M95 gentleman finish.

We turn in maps at the finish, and when all starters have gone we queue up for clean new maps. That's a lot of used maps to recycle!

Then we had lunch and went sightseeing, including Amalienborg (where the queen lives), the Little Mermaid statue, and the Kastellet. Too
late for Rosenborg Palace where the Crown Jewels are kept.

We found a nice cafe for lunch and an Italian restaurant for a delicious bruschetta pizza before heading back on the train to Lyngby.

Note: heart rate data on globe/track is bogus as my strap was in my backpack.
