Road Cycling 1:00:00 [3] 28.5 km (28.5 kph)
shoes: Colnago CLX

Up to Scarborough Beach then back to the Subi Markets

Nice to get out on the bike and not be on a Gym bike

Orienteering race 25:40 [4] 2.5 km (10:16 / km)

Nav Dash Sprint at the new John Forrest Tavern Juffy map. The best of JFNP for sure,

Was talked into the long 2.5km by Andy Hogg and the short was 2.0km but looked like a nice course when I saw it afterwards. Was mid field with Henry winning in 14:43 . Messed up 3 by seeing 4 further up the hill but at least I lead Ken Brownlie astray as he followed me up and then back down to 3 only to climb back up to 4! also lost a minute or so at 9 took the high route and overshot and was likely just off the map, the low route on the path was most likely the best option as you could see the control from the track.

Nice fun area and a good quality Juffy map, although I think shorts was not the best option!

1st outing for the new orange hat from REI

Trail Running warm up/down 18:00 [2] 3.0 km (6:00 / km)

Jogged down the rail path to the waterfall (dry) and then back on the opposite side of the creek in time to see Adrian Day heading off the map at #9 but still beat my time for the leg and the course.

FIxed Bike 20:00 [3] 8.0 km (2:30 / km)

Last hotel gym for this trip, just a short session to try and free up the legs after more running than normal

Just been ID'ed at the Airport in Salt Lake City to get a beer, gosh do I look under 21?

Running 55:12 [3] 9.7 km (5:41 / km)

Lap around False Creek Vancouver before packing my bag and flying out to Salt Lake City.

Legs were fine with too much after effect from the trail run on Sunday, nice temp at 10 deg no wind and have managed 5 days in Vancouver with no rain, which is due to arrive tomorrow.

Note

The apartment I was staying in Vancouver was on the 26th Floor and there was an official notice in the elevator requesting people not to brush the Pet's excrement off the balconies - and I though Canadians were nice people!

Trail Running 2:05:00 [3] 13.0 km (9:37 / km) +1000m 6:57 / km

Excellent Trail Run in perfect conditions on the North Shore mountains of Vancouver.

Started from the Seymour Demonstration Forest and then down along Lynn Creek and onto the Baden Powell Trail for a way before heading up Mt Seymour and back down the Mountain bike trails to the river. The Dirty Duo trail has yet more jumps and ramps, the downhill bike riders were out but we managed to run ahead of them but still totally crazy riding. Finished with the road back up to Rice Lake slow and steady grind but kept goning.

Group of 10 but soon split into the fast ones and then the old and slow group, managed to stay ahead of Jim except on the steep downhill where he ran away but then I was quicker than Rik who was getting away on the uphill. Only got out of sight at one junction and was unsure of the way but then caught sight of Rik through the trees.

Great to run with old friends in the best trail running areas.

Not sure of the climb but it was plenty :-)
