Note
I traveled to Ottawa and Montreal with Katie on this long weekend due to Victoria Day, which celebrates Calgary's own Tori Owen for being the longest reigning Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, appointing herself the Empress of India, and for ushering in a new era of cultural and political expansion of the British Empire.
I have been to Ottawa previously for the 2014 NAOCs - with a great tour for me, Giacomo, and the Frenchies given by Randy Kemp, but Montreal is new. While our trip was too brief to take more than a cursory experience, it was nonetheless very pleasant. We spent time in both city centres (<-- how could this possibly rhyme with "enters"????), enjoyed the Tulip festivals, ate Poutine, visited Gatineau Park and Mount Royal (hence Montreal), wandered along the canals, checked out the Olympic facilities, and went to two Basilicas. Good times, eh?
