So apparently
Canada doesn't really like Toronto; it's a little unclear to me if this is a reaction to an overabundance of attention being lavished on Toronto or perhaps a visceral sports reaction. The 2011 Leger
Marketing Survey found that Toronto is Canada's least liked city. From the article:
Myer Siemiatycki, a Ryerson University politics professor [said]: “Toronto is regarded as totally self-indulgent, so there’s a sort of ‘Who do they think they are believing they’re the centre of the country and the universe?’”
While I'm originally from Texas, I lived in Boston for over a decade, so I'm accustomed to being the subject of considerable ire. It's not easy being the best, but I'm prepared to endure. In unrelated news, I'm especially excited to explore Toronto on SpeedyBike™.
