Some jogging around before the race - probably did about 2km but this was all I recorded. Watched Jamie run a huge 2km PB.

Dunblane 12km road race: last-minute stand in for Beccy. Pretty apprehensive about running 12km on the road - my first road race this millenium? No idea how to pace it, or whether my knee and back would allow me to get even half-way; but we'd paid for the entry, so I was running it!

Missed the call up to the start, and ended up way at the back; lost a minute by being totally boxed in. I didn't even start walking until 15 seconds after starting my watch. 5:21 for my first km - at least it meant that I was overtaking people all the way! I ran conservatively, although judged it OK as I had little left at the end. Careful on the hills but still a bit faster than everyone around me; appreciated the cooling breeze all along Auchinlay Road, as it was pretty warm/humid. Hit a bit of a low patch between Dixie's and Doune Road, but held it together past Tesco and all the way to the finish at the end of the High Street.

A very average time (chip time 52:30 - 30th/350) but chuffed to bits to not be broken by - or before - the end. Knee and back OK!!! TRIMP 166.8

Impressive 9th position by Roger.

EDIT - oh dear, sunnier than it looked - shoulders burnt to a crisp!

Thighs protesting but they'll be grateful for this jog and for all the other unrecorded walking/ jogging I did afterwards.
