British middle distance champion. Woop.

Felt like a good run, looking back (and at the splits) I made maybe 3 10-15 second mistakes and was in general running really well. Felt like I made a few hesitations as well and I was bricking it a bit as I didn't have any feedback the whole way, I went past Oli when he was making a mistake..

Qualifier

Area around 10 was dodgy as hell and I argued for A Damp Otter to be reinstated despite his general being a numptyness because when I was there I didn't think it was fair. Apart from that it was pretty standard and a decent run. Felt pretty slow at times and was really annoyed about the planning. Lots of very similar length legs and lots of passing through the same terrain.

Final

No fairness issues and apart from a boring middle bit I thought it was a decent course. Me and murray were neck and neck the whole way. We both made a mistake on the second control but then I misread a control near the end, went the wrong side of the hedge and lost 6-8 seconds to give Murray the win. Pretty satisfied with my run still but it was a case of so close, so a bit disappointed. Congrats to Murray though.

York is flat. Felt good and went waay further than I thought possible given my effort. Never saw my heart rate above 150, most of the time it was around 140.
