Core while waiting for the schools race participants to get to my marshaling location.

The Hamilton Schools race could be the toughest orienteering race to win in Canada for juniors. So much depth when you have >1000 participants. Case in point Danish Dynamite didn't win. Good job Hadron Collider.

Westdale HS and Sir William Osler repeated as school champions. Osler's team was started by ARK kids.

Running 15:00 [3]

ARX O-tervals. The gang pushed hard on this even after racing the schools racecearlier in the day. All of them (except Sudden) were schools race gold or silver medalists. A great training exercise set up by Meghan.

Westdale Ravine Trails with AG! Knocked 30s off Monday's 5K. At this rate I should be at World Record pace in a few weeks.

Note

42nd Annual Hamilton Schools Adventure Running Challenge is this Wednesday. The race is organized by Ray Kitowski - the latest winner of the Keith French Memorial HKF Service Award (lifetime membership). He arranged for payment of a brand new map (which looks awesome and is long overdue) using profits from recent years.

Not being on the DGL board anymore I asked Ray what the participation numbers were looking like for this year. His response:

"Numbers are down from our 2014 peak. Looks like we will only have 1149 this year but thats about the same as the last few years"

When you have now organized about a half dozen races over 1000 participants like Ray has only he would add the word 'only' before the number 1149 when it comes to participation.
