MTB cycling 1:15:00 [1]

Woke up this morning with the plan of getting a quick breakfast and then heading out on my MTB - home + a loop or more of the river trail + home. When I was sitting at the breakfast table, the wind was howling and the sky was dark. It looked like serious rain was just around the corner. I changed plans a bit and relaxed for a while, had some coffee, watched a bit of World Cup MTB. And it didn't rain.

Got out the door later than planned, but with the same plan. But when I reached the trail head, thunder started and it dumped rain. So, I skipped the trail and biked home with a few detours. In the beginning it was a bit cold. By the time I reached home, the rain had stopped.

If it doesn't rain any more, the trails might be rideable later today. Maybe I'll go back.

Work commute. I kind of felt like getting my MTB out and riding the river trail after work. But, I didn't.

Work commute.

The town is so quiet in the mornings now that school's aren't in session. It is very pleasant.

Jogging on West Campus. It felt hot.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute.

I was sleepy all day - tired from a long day yesterday. During the last session at the conference, I got a text from Mary about changes to my flight out of Atlanta. It turned out my flight was delayed an hour. That meant I wouldn't make my connection in St Louis. Some time on the phone with Southwest got me a seat on a later (and direct) flight to KC. So that was pretty good, but it meant I didn't get home until about 1:30 a.m.

running 20:00 [2]

I got up early-ish and did a short jog in downtown Atlanta. I carried an oobrien open orienteering map with me.

The strangest part of the run was when I spotted a guy at the entrance to the Centennial Olympic Park. He was waving his arms and yelling something. When I got close enough to understand what he was saying, I heard him yell, "look at all of the fat people at Waffle House and all the skinny people running." It seemed like a strange thing to be doing at 6:20 in the morning. I gave him a little wave and a smile as I went by.

The conference day was long. Our evening event was at the Atlanta aquarium. That was cool. We had dinner in a meeting room with huge windows to the largest tanks. Eating a meal and looking up to see whales swimming around is special.
