running 1:00 [1]

One minute added to try to get Cristina-bot off my back.

I did the orienteering course at today's Fort Lev adventure race. I took it pretty easy (including a brief stop mid-course to log in and get my boarding pass for tomorrow's SW flight).

Running felt ok. Motivation not high, but moving felt fine. Of course, I didn't really work hard, so it is hard to tell what it'd have felt like if I was pushing harder.

Work commute.

On the trip home I spotted a couple of indigo buntings.

I heard from Cristina-bot when the clock struck midnight in Norway. That inspired me to get out on my MTB on the river trail. Or at least to do a little bit of an extra loop near the end to try to keep from getting another message tomorrow.

I got caught in a little rain near the end. There are some big storms headed this direction (just heard reports of ping-pong ball sized hail near Topeka).

A highlight of the ride was spotting something large and black-and-white moving in the woods. I stopped and looked more carefully and waited to see what might be there. A pileated woodpecker! Very cool.

Work commute. Big headwind coming home. I saw a report that St Jo had wind of 64 mph. It wasn't that strong here, but it was windy.

running 25:00 [2]

Easy jog on West Campus. I passed by the Pioneer Cemetery and stopped briefly to see the temporary marker at Dad's grave.

The work commute. It was a chore to get home with warm temps and a strong steady headwind. When I got home, I mowed.

MTB cycling 1:00:00 [1]

I rode my MTB on the river trails. It was hot today. The trail has a lot of shade, so that's nice.

running 40:00 [2]

Jogging around on West Campus. I got out before it was too warm.

I kept the run fairly short so I'd have time to meet Stephen before he flew home.
