cycling 25:00 [1]

Biking to/from class. This was the last class session of the semester.

PTOC night sprint-ish race at SMP. This was a lot of fun.

Joe B beat me by 3+ minutes. That's a lot of time on such a short course. Mary tells me that by winsplits Joe lost over a minute. It is fun to see Joe running well, but I wish I weren't quite so far behind him.

running 20:00 [2]

Warming up. Felt ok, but my normal warm up routine isn't designed for night. I'll have to think about that.

Biking to/from work.

I took a short walk over my lunch hour and saw a little bit of the "Irish Mile" - a one mile road race that is just before the parade. I'm not sure if Ad Astra came up with the idea or just organized it, but it seems like a great way to get a crowd to watch some running.

Work commute. It was warm coming home.
6 PM

cycling 15:00 [1]

The biking part of a bike-run-bike session. I biked to/from a spot at the top of Ulrik's Hill.

running 30:00 [2]

A warm run that included 4 x Half Ulrik's Hill. A full Ulrik's Hill is 1 km with the first ~250 meters flat, then ~ 500 meters climbing, and then ~250 m flat. A Half Ulrik is just the climb part, starting at the asbestos shed and finishing when the climb ends.

It was warm out there.

I felt mostly ok. Took the pace easy.

Work commute. I thought it made sense to give my legs an extra easy day. I also checked to make sure it wouldn't put me behind Cristina.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute. Chilly in the morning and some crazy drivers out there. Also, it started snowing! By about 10 a.m. the roads were getting slick and I was thinking that if the snow didn't stop and the temp didn't go up a bit, the ride home was going to be slick. The snow did stop. The temp got a bit above freezing. The trip home was fine.

running 1:00:00 intensity: (50:00 @2) + (10:00 @4)

I ran on the trails and with the map at Clinton State Park. I started at the beach. I included 3 x HU/ML/HE. I was struggling a bit to push the pace.

I also saw a tvattbjorn.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute. I almost wore regular gloves, but at the last minute thought that I should wear lobster mitts. That was a good choice. It was chilly and windy and my hands would have been uncomfortable with normal gloves.

I thought about a little jog after work but did some work on some map drafting instead.

3 x short O' courses. Each started with a bit of climb and then flattened to the end. I took the pace easy. My mind wasn't as sharp as I'd like.

running 1:00:00 [2]

Running at Rockcrusher - a mix of trails and terrain. I made some effort to get a bit of extra climb.

Pace was very easy and I stopped a few times to walk, get a drink or water, or move some fallen branches off the trail. I also stopped a little bit to watch an owl.
