run 5:09:27 [3] 22.39 mi (13:49 / mi) +1323m 11:41 / mi

Long run to bring my weekly average back up. PCT south from i80 to 40 to Tinkers and back. A few snow patches and one giant cornice to cross, but nothing too difficult. The rest was dirt and flowers and omg wind. Sugar Bowl to Tinkers is still the bestest ridgeline ever. The GROAT if you will.

Felt ok until about 3:30, then stopped to filter water (and get demolished by mosquitoes), and was ok for another 30mins to Donner Pass road. The last hour back to 80 had way more hills than the elevation profile might indicate, and was pretty rough. Many gentle inclines were walked.

Ate three GUs, two granola bars, five salt pills, and maybe three liters of water. Weekly mix pack GU review: salted watermelon - it's growing on me, strawberry banana - gross, jet blackberry - meh, I want to like it, but it never sits well in my stomach.

Knees took a while to loosen up, and my shoulders were super sore at the end. Been spending a lot of time messing with the outside patio at home, mostly digging basketball sized rocks out of a hillside, carrying them somewhere random and throwing them into a pile. Also sledgehammering a resilient set of concrete steps. Also moving around some giant heavy wine barrel planters which I assume are mostly concrete with a bit of dirt on top (thanks ed!). Basically things my programmer arms are not cut out for anymore.
