Did a simple course at Black Mountain, an orange course from some recent mid-week event plus an extra bit that Dad set. I was just looking for an opportunity for some terrain running and to get some map time to reinforce the navigation process. Navigated okay but I should have exaggerated the process more, e.g., deliberately slow through controls, making really firm plans, detailed map-reading but instead was lazy - appropriate for the area and course perhaps. Felt good through the terrain, although it's not very physically challenging, and realised this was too many runs in a row for the Achilles which complained on and off.

Run out in Stoney Ck with Dad on a mix of fire-trails and single-tracks. A bit of tightness but it seemed to improve after a few minutes and I was pleased how it handled the uphill single-track. Good fun on the single-tracks.

A lap of Narrabundah Hill at a steady pace. Calf/achilles feeling a bit tight but didn't get any worse as the run went on. Tried a couple of run-throughs at the end but it didn't like those. Settled down okay again afterwards.

Calves. Added 4kg of weights to a backpack, which made it hard and had to drop to 3 x 12.

Shorter version of my standard tempo at a bit slower pace than usual. Did an easy warmup as wasn't feeling sure of my achilles and then did 5km tempo with a short warm-down and a good stretch.
