It's been a while since I've done any sort of plyo, so this was tough on my quads.

Back to Henry St. My legs are pretty tired from plyo earlier, so the rest of the way back home is merely a plodding walk.

Whew! I decided to really go for it today, mostly since Alex was starting just 2 minutes after me. Really the only things that changed were my mindset, and then my prep included the typical pre-race visualization and I actually had a couple of things I was going to focus on. One of which was pushing physically.
In the first part of the race, I kept making glances back over my shoulder, expecting to see Alex right on my heels, but I didn't see her. I had a few very minor bobbles in the control circle, but nothing more than 5-10 seconds. The long leg drained me. I had been pushing physically from the get-go, but once I got to 7 I had to slow a bit just so my heart rate could come down a bit and I could think straight! Thankfully all the remaining legs were pretty short, but Alex definitely kept gaining on me there. I saw her behind me while I was going to 15, and I had nothing left to put up more of a gap. Bummer! She ended up getting me by about 1 minute. I'm glad I had a solid race though, and was able to keep her from catching up the entire way. It's kind of amazing how the racing mindset makes a world of difference in results.
Fun week all around! If you haven't been to Laramie for orienteering before, try making it out here sometime.
