Wanted to do this for ages but always clashes with November Classic. New shoe lacing technique seemed to work really well, extensors ok for the race. Knee sore though.

Kept right down the hill at the start which was a good line. Elected to run through the river as decided it would be faster than the stepping stones, but the river was extremely high (waist!) so was very slow. Weather was quite nice luckily, sunny enough for vest and shorts. Water felt cold. In general struggled for pace through the mud and up the hills, really feeling the lack of training, but I reckon I can only have been around 5mins down on the leader.

Think I came about 40th/1500.

Running - Trail race (Parkrun - Shipley) 19:19 [5] 5.0 km (3:52 / km) +59m 3:39 / km
ahr:139 max:153 shoes: Nike Pegasus 32

51st unique Parkrun:

Good course. Hill was a bit of surprise as I wasn't expecting it! Winning from about 500m; thought the guy at the front at the start might stay with me and was fully prepared to let him win, but he faded on the hill. My hill running is getting pretty good.

My knee hurt quite a lot before and quite a lot afterwards, but was totally fine during the race. I think next week is going to have to be another week with no training though unfortunately. I'm still planning on DDD tomorrow though, since I've wanted to do it for ages and it's only just under 8k.
My extensors are still painful as well. Going to try lacing my shoes differently tomorrow. If I remember.

Was going to do the first mdoc street o but still too injured, although improving rapidly.
Instead, just going to go to the pub afterwards :)

They let you get a map and clue sheet, run around when you're uninjured and submit your own score! Excellent.

The 'advantage' of the same injury on both feet is that I can perform valid experiments and pretty much eliminate the placebo effect.

Slathered one foot in max-strength Ibuprofen gel this morning.

Made no difference whatsoever. So not buying that again.

Right knee and both extensors still very sore. When I wiggle my big toes, there is an audible creaking noise.

No-go on the November classic unfortunately :(
