Made two mistakes, but looks like that only dropped me from 8th to 9th. Just can't run as fast as the big boys.
First mistake was on #10 where I had a lovely line in the control (see RG) but then saw some people over to my right and assumed I'd dropped too low. Actually was in perfectly the right place! So annoying because I'd come all the way through the complicated bit of Bretton specifically doing my own thing and nailing all the controls. Must be more confident.

Caught by Quentin on #15 and we ran 16 together, similar pace along the trod but he was much better through the rough stuff and seemed to be really good at picking lines through it. On that basis I followed him to 17 which he then proceeded to mess up (dammit! the one time!) by going far too far; I noticed before him and doubled back, luckily led in by people who's bearing was better. Tbh not sure what I should've done on this control, the only AP is a vague ditch which I was looking for and also missed. I should have looked for the en-route knoll I guess, but was too busy trying to stay with Quentin. Who caught me again between 18 and 19.

Had a while to plan the last long leg and planned to go through the gaps in the walls in the fields to the south, but en-route looked at it again and decided that this wasn't possible (although it clearly is, but while running...it was a bit annoying that some of the crossing points have the crossing point symbol whilst some are just gaps) and went the more circuitous route.

Not a bad run overall; I would've expected to be behind the top 7 anyway. No problems with the distance, still feeling ok at the end.
