Gym (Upper Body & Core) 51:25 [3]
ahr:87 max:110 shoes: ASICS GEL - Nimbus 17

probably a bit heavy but a good session.

Don't particularly enjoy doing upper body all in 1 hit but trying something different to keep it fresh.

Note
(rest day)

Would normally be a ride tonight but had a shocking sleep so knackered and pretty much sore head to toe with the new gym programs and calf issue so listening to body today unscheduled off and tomorrow standard day off. Back to gym on Saturday

Running (Night Run) 36:10 [3] 6.04 km (5:59 / km) +46m 5:46 / km
ahr:150 max:167 shoes: ASICS GEL - Nimbus 17

Wanted to go for a run faster than a jog but slower than a run. And apparently 5:35 ish is that pace. felt good right up to the 3km turn around point but within 100m of turning around, I felt a tiny niggle in my calf so stopped before it went ping and paused the timer and did some physio exercises. then restarted - 100m on realised I probably rushed that and could feel the niggle so repeated but slower.

Then set off at a much slower pace and a slightly changed stride to protect the calf - felt fine so managed low 6 mins but for the uphill when I really backed off just in case.

Probably more because I have been thrashing the calf with physio activities for last week and a half because feeling alright at the end... maybe it was tightening - either way, will thrash it some more and try again on weekend for a jog. Thankfully the ankle was feeling rock solid - but I guess that only gets tested if I roll it or am on uneven ground which I wasn't. Either way going to step up the rehab a bit. nice to see the fitness was definitely there as 535 seemed reasonable and I wasn't straining to get it whereas previously I definitely would have been

Gym (Arms & Core) 1:00:01 [3]
ahr:90 max:143 shoes: ASICS GEL - Nimbus 17

Decided to write all my routines new for next few weeks, did a full arms session (counterproductive I know, but boy did it thrash me)

The gym was busy given how late it was.

Think I'll be sore tomorrow... incidentally the core return from yesterday - gosh my hammies letting me know about it today!

Road Bike (River Loop) 1:28:12 [3] 32.08 km (21.8 kph) +332m
ahr:135 max:174 shoes: Sidi Tiger Carbon MTB SPD Shoe

Was really nice to get out and do something - didn't flog myself but also didn't go completely easy. Had 1 idiot stop in the roundabout to let kid out car which required some abs styled breaking and a bit of a swerve to stop in time otherwise uneventful.

No pain before or after except for left ankle decleat at the end which was only really acknowledging it isn't back to full strength.

A few hours later calf feeling rock solid, see how it goes rest of the week but potentially rest week with the same activities from the last time I had a calf problem has potentially put it back in the right space. Either way, I will be taking it easy until I'm beyond doubt its good (clearly more precious on my calf than my ankle!)

Gym (HardCore) 1:00:51 [3]
ahr:91 max:112 shoes: ASICS GEL - Nimbus 17

New program - an hour of Core - hence HardCore.

probably overcooked the weight on the last superset but will adjust lunges and Russians next week to make it more effective.

The resistance band for clams and hip thrusts certainly made me work.

Think I may be sore tomorrow - well have to wait and see!

So many idiots at the gym tonight just in there having a laugh and playing around not actually training - I find that frustrating because people want the equipment they are fucking around on. thankfully didn't slow me down at all.
