100 mile from Marquette to Ishpeming consisting of most of the more challenging single track in that area. There was actually quite a bit of runnable stuff too, getting in between trail systems, and some of the smoother/flowy trails. Felt so/so first 20 miles, pretty decent miles 20-40, little struggling after that (when dark came on) - kept plugging along until 68 mile point. I was expecting water there - this was the drop bag location, but drop bag trailer location was not apparent and a friendly crew for some locals generously gave me some water and snacks. Shortly after starting up again there was a weird pain in my hip - tried walking/jogging/stretching but didn't get better and I convinced myself to drop - officially pulled the plug ~70 miles and walked back to the park where Rudy left the van before crushing the 100-mile bike race. Otherwise OK - fun course, GI fine, not too sleepy, feet weren't problematic - once general aches and pains subside, maybe I can figure out if the hip is something I need to fix. I really wish I could have finished this one.
