Orienteering race (urban) 54:16 [5] 10.1 km (5:22 / km) +170m 4:57 / km
shoes: Brookes Ravenna 8

NWO urban, cirencester, 7km, 30 controls

not good. Really struggled to focus from the off, and made many silly tiny mistakes, plus couldn't get the running going.

after about 12 controls, I realised I was dying, and had to slow to a jog, & my left calf was twinging & threatening to pull/knot.

What a shame. On form, this was something I'd expect to have .... won?

(forgot garmin so copied Paul's stats) (175m climb?)

#mojolost (for now?)

Note

Outdoor trad climbing Cheddar gorge south side with Beardy Mike & two of his (older) mates. Fingers & forearms sore from yesterday, but have to take chances when weather good & people are going!

warmed up on hideous roadside 6a, then up to Long wall for 3 routes, HVS HS, & an E1, I only led the HS, which was excellent. the others were 'ard!

Good to get out!

Note

Indoor bouldering at Bloc again. Pretty full on.

Seemed better than last week, tho i need to do lots of mileage really , and resist the temptation to do hard UK 6a problems in front of much younger attractive women. To this end, I did do 3 circuits (40 moves each)) - at 5+, 6a+, and 6a - the last onsight. Not bad.

Fingers & forearms nicely buggered now.

Running 47:32 [4] 9.43 km (5:02 / km) +116m 4:45 / km
shoes: Brookes Ravenna 8

Tried to get to BOK run, but traffic around my place / M32 very bad, and realised I had no chance, & even if i did, it would be a grim stressful journey of many red lights .

So parked up in oldbury court car park & set off.

LH inner knee (from Gower, 3 months ago) hurt unacceptably in first 2 km, but then eased. Started moving OK (despite/considering current rubbishness), but then on the way back (Frome valley), LH hamstring started hurting - no sudden pain though. Eh? I stopped after 200m, took stock, walked / jogged and started up again, and luckily seemed to be a false alarm. Liz has said "slow tears" are commonplace, and so this was foremost in my mind. Got back OK, accelerating to my previous pace of about 5 mins/km.

Anyway, getting dark, a good workout, but MORE REHAB & stuff needed - DAILY.
