Road Running race (parkrun) 19:35 [4] 5.0 km (3:55 / km) +65m 3:41 / km vdot: 51.0
slept:5.0 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 11 AW11

Finsbury Park parkrun. After a few beers and a very late night curry, and then falling asleep on my couch yet again, not the greatest preparation for my first Finsbury Park parkrun since at least a couple of years ago. The high-speed downhill start was a wake-up call, as were the four hills (two on the course, repeated twice.)

I'm going to stick my neck out and target a sub-19 time at FP by the end of this year.

Splits: 3:47, 3:59, 3:50, 4:07, 3:52.

Cycle Commuting (Back Home) 22:40 [3] 10.93 km (2:04 / km)

Superb tail-wind helped me to another PB by 61 seconds. Almost didn't have to pedal ;-)

For all my excitement about these speeds, I notice that HWW was comfortably under 2min/km on his own (lengthier) cycle commute home this evening.
11 AM

Cycle Commuting (In to Work) 30:14 [3] 10.99 km (2:45 / km)

Strong headwind, particularly on Euston Road.
11 PM

Cycle Errands (Back Home) 32:12 [2] 11.29 km (2:51 / km)

KX to non-Tesco 24h supermarket (yay!) to home.

Score Orienteering (Street-O) 59:10 [3] ** 12.39 km (4:47 / km)

SLOW Southfields Street-O. Felt the Lake District running in my legs, so jogged around, never picked up the pace. Despite that, I seemed to have run as far as ever on these sorts of races...

Won a spot prize for attending all nine Street-O races in the 2011/12 series.
10 PM

Cycle Errands (Back Home) 1:04:09 [3] 28.0 km (2:17 / km)

From Southfields, via supermarket. Quiet roads. 59.8km/h (apparently) down SH, although I doubt this. Rained towards the end.

Orienteering race (Urban Race) 58:22 [4] *** 8.0 km (7:18 / km) +210m 6:27 / km
32c slept:7.5 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 11 AW11

Kendal Urban Race. Dry and cool, pleasant running conditions. Lots of hills on the course - the first section being a long climb up to a housing estate, then later a swing through the centre and up to a wood, then finally back down to the centre.

A couple of poor route choices cost me a minute each, and a few other small mistakes and poor decisions, meant this was a good, but not great, race for me.

Greatly appreciated the free Kendal Mint Cake at the finish line.

Actual distance run, according to the GPS, was 11.6km - apparently the optimum route would have only taken 10.6km.
