Rogaine 3:00:00 [1]
shoes: inov8 roclite 315

Rogaine with the family out near Daylesford.

A mixed bag. Kristen didn't enjoy it, Ev seemed to hate it, and I was wondering whether it had been a good idea to start when we were carrying a screaming, back arching Ev back to the HH after completing our planned course of 7 controls

BUT it wasn't all bad. The last two controls were probably the highest pressure navigating I've done - hit them cleanly and get to the car as quickly as possible with everyone on edge but ok, or duff them and daughters voice box grinds itself into destruction and wife doesn't talk to me in the car on the way home. Fortunately, we hit every control without any big errors. We came down one gully right of the only 50 pointer we went for, but I realised before we got down as far as the CP and hopped over quickly. We saw a nice mob of big kangas bouncing around us as we sat for some quiet time in a deep gully about half way through the course. Ev enjoyed them.

So there is it, my best navigation in the worst of circumstances. It was nice to get a map in my hand again. I'm looking forward to Macedon this weekend.

Cycle commute 20:00 [3]

ss mtb, lots of fast spinning this morn.

Enjoyed putting the V brakes onto the Jackson last night, though it was a shame to peel off the newly shellaced tape to change levers over... ended up doing the whole job in one night, which is faster than I thought it would be. One shellac layer applied this morning, one tonight and maybe one more over the weekend and it will be set! Dynamo still hasn't arrived and I am getting a bit worried :(

Running 1:02:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Free 5.0

Run through Royal Park with RHamil. Had a pack with 5kg or so in there, no sternum strap and old school canvas style meant it bounced around a lot and pulled wide on the shoulders. Was a good comparison to the new style packs that I've been using. Interestingly, the hipbelt really didnt matter... this pack just had webbing and a friction buckle and it was fine. I dont sit the hipbelts on my hips on the other packs when i run, so it makes sense. Anyway, this was over 10km, some nice long grass running, steep hills, etc. Warm, too.

note: after picking up the raft today (Friday) I definitely ran with more weight yesterday, which is a nice feeling.

Running 55:00 [3]

Lunchtime run with the brothers Walter on gossan, bruce ridge and back through hosi. Cant wait for this to be the standard again. Running comes so easy in Canberra. Didnt struggle for motivation and time and kms just flew by while i was running.
