So I was wondering why Peter's message worked so well this past Sunday. It wasn't something I didn't know before but it was something that was great to hear right before the start. I think we need more of such pep talks or motivational encouragements, more than "good luck" or "you suck". In other sports, esp. team sports, huddles and pep talks are so prevalent and are highly beneficial, raising adrenaline, moral, etc. Not so much in US orienteering, although maybe it is happening with the junior team. I know I would benefit from more of such pre-start race preparation explicitness.
