Running 40:09 [4] 8.77 km (4:35 / km) +245m 4:01 / km

intensity: 5 on hills
3 on flats and downhill
Planned to run this route yesterday but ended up going to mates house, forgot the route and got lost to start with, kept on following this road for about 3km all uphill!(had to stop twice for ten/15 seconds due to steepness and didn't want to ware myself out for C.O.M tomorrow!) then finally found knothallow tarn which is what i aimed for, ran over knothallow hill then down the stream in private land (which i didnt realise was at the time) down to stockbridge lane, followed the lane all the way down, up daltongate, down lightburn road and back.
Knees not hurting too much which is good considering it was a road run, ankle feeling fine but thats because it was road too!

Haverthwaite heights technical race- 3.3km 270m
Apparently Haverthwaite is the most technical area the whole of England, which i can definitely see after today. Apart from 1min at control 5, 2mins at control 16 and 1min of scrappiness on a few controls using extra height,i had a very clean run using my thumb compass for about the third time, took it easy as ankle was achy but was raring to do more at the end as i was feeling fresher!
came about 1:30 behind will which isn't too shabby, good running mike!

Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]

consisted of run to start, then back again as i had forgotten to get a map, then jogging around after and some stretches at home, ankle feeling better but not taking too much risk so im still heavily taping it.

Orienteering race (M48- relay) 25:20 [4] 4.25 km (5:58 / km) +180m 4:55 / km
(injured)

actual course: 3.55km 175m climb
started well on the mass start, won to the first really hilly control by a good 20seconds, this definitely took it out of me for the rest of the course... was leading a lot of people to the first 4 controls but then i died on number 5 and a lot of people on different gaffles went ahead, i lost about 30 seconds on 5, then i was ahead of tim for 8,9,10,11, but he went slightly ahead to twelve and 13 asi was very slow(30s), overtook him on the final hill and beat him to the finish, came back 8th of about 30 teams, was first back from my loop, and should of come back about 4th but was a bit slow over the second hill and across the wooded slope, passed on to adamwith about 7 in front of him, 5 within about 30seconds ahead of him, he easily took them and won his orange by over a minute! he came back joint 2nd/3rd and left will with 1 minute to catch on michael adams and will went out with matt E, he left them, caught michael and came back 1st!! top work boys!!! champions! and deserved, we could of won by a lot more as i was slow and dane shouldnt be running for syo!

run/walk to start with harry, tiny jog around after finish

Orienteering race (craig a barns) 52:52 [4] 6.35 km (8:20 / km) +220m 7:06 / km
(injured)

actual course:4.9k 220m climb
17th of 70
apart from 1 big mistake and a couple of little mistakes it was a very positive and fairly quick race, easy pace with achey ankle to 1 and 2, 3 was an awful mistake where i came round the side of the wrong crag running down the wrong re entrant and searching for ages! (5mins), took 4 easy and 5 got distracted by a guy asking for help! which then put me off the leg a bit (45s), six was one of the best long legs ive ever done, started of running it slowly, then sped up towards the end and crossed the wall at the perfect point, i think it was michael hallet who followed me into it!, then lead him to seven and left him to 8 with my rubbish route choice(1:30), 9 not too good a route choice either(1 min) 10 fine, caught nick malbon up and staright away tried to leave him, messing up 11 (a minute) by just missing the control, then left nick to 12, and tried to leave him to 13 but he did a good route.(45s)
looking back on it, it didn't look like a very good run but a lot of people seemed to mess up as it was a very difficult area, really enjoyed it even though ive screwed up my eyoc chances...
could of got around 43/44 and placed myself top 5!
