(easy recovery) night O - lost at great plains of Paloheinä. Picking last night HS training controls. Paths and road were taken away from the east part of the map. So there was areas with not much else than green and boulders and some ditches. And I did not take compass because I thought I would have enough things to carry anyway. Bad choice, not often been as lost. felt funny, running an imaginary "bearing" knowing it can well be 90 degrees wrong and hoping to hit something identifiable. Or standing on a path crossing I know very well because I have skied that path hundreds of times but having no idea where it is on my map.
