Orienteering 1:12:25 [3] 10.17 km (7:07 / km)

Jukola leg 7 leg 6. one big mistake, almost 2 min. I got tired, leg cramps and lost focus. Being more fit would have helped I guess.Dot map analysis

sorry for the poor photo taken in darkish room - its raining.

Note

Feels weird to haveJukola this close. I could have gone there by bike. Played all day with Topias, then late in the evening packed and went to TC. After my run I watched the race till the end, went home, took day nap and went to Ikea shopping some furniture.

Orienteering 1:00:30 [3] 6.3 km (9:36 / km)

Ketunkorpi, with home brew map based on lidar and other open data.

On the way way to #1 I saw large knoll in reentrant on right and no sign of knoll on map. Thought great, this is gonna be intresting. looked at compass and tried hit the highet top in front. But I was more left than I thought and the knoll I saw was the one I thought I was standing. As pleasant surprize I could read to knolls I found #1 just fine, there just was no any actual cliff, just a steepish place.

#2 was fine, could read the dietails and knolss in front of control. And there was a nice cliff too. #3, struggled to get down (wind falls), then ran unmapped trails and some marsh until I climbed up and read all the knolls and details and found nice little spur spot on. #4 over the corner of that hill, followed spurs untill at the top I peeked at compass and found a nice little dot knoll. #5 read knolls and reentrants and cliffs and everything matched, except control spur looked more like a knoll to me. #6 straight wihtout plan, then decided to go left, climbed up and saw that little white knoll at left, followed countours to control. Dot knoll was way too small to be mapped. #7 by the marsh to spot that green dot, it was a more wet and soft place with no high trees. Then spotted those cliffs and ran to control. Way too big to be mapped as dot knoll (as that little cliff it has might have indicated). #8 spotted most if not all contour details and all the knolls in the ring were there, maybe not more than knee high but easy to identify anyway. #9 that spur harfway was a big stone, at control there was sort of cliff(s) but quite small ones. #10 nothing special, not really focused here, just ran. Control was easy, maybe some cliffs missing from the map. #11 started without plan, decided to go round the second hill, then up, first parallel error (went left around an other than I thought) then saw long cliff on right and figured out where I was, then forgot to peek compass or navigate anyhow, just saw a knoll and thought control is behind that one (2nd parallel one). Searched for the cliff for a while, place didn't mach well with the map, finally figured what happenned and went to the right place and there was nice little cliff spot on. Then I realized it felt good to find out it was me that failed and not the map, that made me laugh. #12 nice little dot knoll. #13 down then up, didn read much until at the top, details were there, large knoll at the very top 50m before control was actually maybe three knolls generalized as one, details in ring were there. Couple of more dot knolls wouldn't do harm there. #14 read details, all were there. #15 compass to road, then straight between knolls, followed contours and control dot knoll was there. #16 nothing special, #17 control dot knoll was almos nonexistent, yellow was ok and that confirmed the location was right. Fun.
