Kuivannon kymppi, 10.6 km road race at Kuivanto, Orimattila. Started maybe too far back, so I had to pass people to get to the place I could run in peace. So first 4 km were not much of racing, just cruising and taking short spurts to pass groups of people for fun. I took easily 4-8 km gravel road section, too bumpy for Topo at pram. Last 2.5 km harder, 9th km is slow because there was big uphill and pram makes uphills more slow and tough than one might imagine. Pos 58 out og about 500 runners. Not bad I guess. Fun day, -2C sunshine.

Topo's first race. He was brave and slept all the time.

I have run this once before, then my time was 39 and something.

Orienteering 1:59:00 intensity: (1:29:00 @2) + (30:00 @3)

Long easy pace O in beatifull wether, sunshine +3C. Ran it alne, Tomi was sick and MinnaR had rest day for tomorrows road race. Struggled to get over the river (ditch/brook/creek?) twice. Small error at 8 and big one at 12. In both cases I was runnig about 20-30 degrees wrong direction and then got confused. Typical winter mistake type for me, I ran without a compass as I often do during winter (thumb will freeze if I use thumb compass) and I am not utsed to do it. Normally I am heavy compass user, I never take bearing but I look at compass needle all the time. Laso littel zigzagging at 14 and 25 to make sure I got he control pont right. 23 was strange place, I guess map maker never went there.

Nice weather and terrain, and nice course again by BorisGr. I requested 2 h course and he designed this and said is't a little short but might do. And he got it right again, it took 1:59 :)

I never visited #2. Parallel error, wrong bare rock noll as attack point so I spiked unpapped dot knoll in green. Noticed what happened on the way to #3 (I saw the big stone so I knew I was too far SW). Missed a path on the way to #9 and finally skipped 12. I tried to draw course on map without watching map to much to save some surprises for the run, so I also managed to draw course wrong - forgot #12. So I found 12 out of 14 countrols. I have something to improve during the winter. Really fun training anyway. Thanks!

Orienteering (Night) 1:00:00 [3] 6.26 km (9:35 / km)

Fog and light rain. Difficult to see anything most of the way. Several smallmistakes, I found #1 almost straight away but was unsure was it the right stone so I did a loop to make it sure. More Safe routes would have saved some time, it's not easy to sport controls at night and fog is there is no flags or reflectors.
