Biking 1:30:00 [1]

Easy recovery biking with Minna. It took 3.5 hours, but I log here one and half. Nice weather. Achilles was sore when I left and it was super fine when I got back. Maybe should do more easy biking.

I Drrove throught the very same tunnel I had the accident week ago. There was again an old lady again walking from one side of the tunnel to an other and back and making random turns and wobbling her nordic walking sticks, but this time I managed to pass her without hitting any concrete walls. Driving trought that tunnel seems to be like playing an retro video game:

"Beep - you crashed and lost 2 teeth.
You have 7/10 teeth left.
...
... game over! You have no teeth left so you died for hunger!"

Damn those old ladies are dangerous...

Note

25 manna result: DQ
punch missing. The usual story, signal seen etc.

And Minna's team too. 2 missing (too fast?) punches.

But some clubs travelled with us got result. But results are suspicious, teams may not bein right order. I guess finish units clocks differed and if was up to luck which unit you choosed to punch with.

Maybe we we should use 1 min accuracy instead of 1 sec (or the ridiculous 0.1 sec used in spints) with SI. Then we could justify better the time wasting pin punch back up mehod and need to wait for the signal while time runs.

Fun trip anyway. My 25 manna photos, this is what 25manna is like:

Orienteering race 42:07 [4] 7.1 km (5:56 / km)

25 manna 2nd leg. (according to winsplits my time is 42:07, but that can't be correct for sure. I guess time from start to start punch is missing, correct one is about 44 min).

I was the slowest person I saw in forest. I did not pass anyone and people kept passing me. Well, I saw one person moving even more slowly than me, but she was an old lady with an dog. I don't think that counts.

Anyway, I did all I could and even navigated couple of times myself for few tens of meters before a faster one took lead. Two 15 sec mistakes, but I canät really blame 15sec mistakes if I loose about 10 min to the fastest guys. My form is just as crappy as one can imagine, it's as simple as that.

I heard Boris cheereing right soon after last control and I tought about speeding up a bit but just thinking of it felt all too bad so I just tried to survive. Anyone who saw me can confirm I was running like a snail, I even left slimy marks behind me like we ultimate slow snails do.

Achilles did hurt slightly all the time, but not do badly - it didn't slow me dont much this time. That's good news, it's getting better.

Somehow I still managed to get out team up about 10 places. I wonder how it is possible. Short forking?

Today there is no a ice hockey player anymore at mirror. Now it's more like Lordi.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [1]

Before night race, no much later (too tired).

Orienteering race (Night) 1:05:00 [4]

Yökuppi and districk night champs. I won H35 and was I second fastest of the long course runners, 55 sec behind the winner.

Unusual night course. It used small, not much used part of a map. It's not used because green, debris and spiced with vague mapping here and there. Only short legs, no route choices, just going straight trough green and debris. Controls in low visibility areas (because that's that the whole area is like). Grass, mud. Dark. Basicly just made for me, usually I do quite well in races like this. The fact I am out of shape and I had to walk a lot didn't stop me doing well. Quite funny, 5.7km, time 1:04. I guess best guys made more then 10 min mistakes, it was well under one hour course.

Live GPS worked just fine, now 4 runners were tracked. And my head lamp was ok too. I used low mode for warm up and high during the race. I didn't try the new turbo mode, 33% boost to high. I must try it first in a training run, but it should work fine with the installed inter cooler.

Note

I got by teeth back. And my head size is about normal again.

One might think I should try to learn how to ride a bike. Or sell my good old NIMH bike.
