we choose a good route I thought. Got a bit lost on a bushwhack, coming in on a unmapped trail to a stream to high, and caught in a briar patch for about 40 minutes. Claire had a great view of me hanging upside down from a pricker vine swearing like....a lot. Nice cuts under my knee from that. Terrain was ok, very dusty-rocky, not quite what we had been training on, and not a flat spot to be seen. I have cuts in places there should not be cuts.

Beautiful race, very much a navigation orienteering rogaine, not just a get out and run. About 15-30 minutes per countrol, except the one where we got ourselves royally lost, that took 1 hour.
