Road biking 1:30:00 [2]
slept:10.5

Orchard loop with Elif and Brian, about 1:45 of riding, subtracting some time for coasting. Got some coaching on riding in a group which I'm still nervous about. Feeling better just in time for more racing this weekend.

5 PM

Bike Trainer 20:00 [2]
slept:10.0 (sick)

Not feeling better, but exercise helps me sleep and I needed to do something.

Tuesday Mar 6, 2012 #

Note
slept:9.5 (sick) (rest day)

Feeling really low on energy despite lots of sleep. I don't think exercise would have any benefit right now.

Monday Mar 5, 2012 #

Note
slept:10.0 (sick) (rest day)

Sick with a cold, which is not a surprise considering how messed up my sleep schedule was last week. Luckily I have five days for R and R before the next two races because I'm on break.

Sunday Mar 4, 2012 #

Running 10:00 [2] 1.25 mi (8:00 / mi)

Running back and forth while spectating, and a little jogging to stretch my legs.

Bike Trainer warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Road biking race 25:00 [4]
slept:9.0

25 min criterium race, 8 or 9 0.9 mile laps. No time, I guess they don't time criteriums. Good course for me - nice long uphill and no sharp turns. I went up a category to men's D and got 12th. I had to stay in the small chain on the bike because my gear was broken, but even though I lost time at the start (because I had trouble clipping in) and on the downhills I was easily passing people on the uphills. I had a ton of fun bike racing this weekend I'm looking forward to doing more ECCC races. Hopefully I can make it to at least the C category so I can do longer races.

I definitely had a lot left of energy left at the end of the race, although my right calf muscle started to cramp at the top of the hill with two laps to go. I'll be keeping that in mind for next weekend's races...
