Long. Another first class race! The organization this weekend was fantastic.

I pushed much harder today. I wanted to know if I could push hard through a whole long. Unfortunately I started to tire between 16 and 17. By 17 my hamstrings were starting to complain, and I really slowed down. The nav went well. I took conservative routes today, which worked well. No big errors, but I'm sure I lost time on the long routes. Awesome day out. I haven't done much o'ing since the spring, and I'm surprised how well things went this weekend.

I wasn't happy with my race when I finished. I made lots of mistakes, and felt really slow. So I was really surprised to end up 2 mins behind the winner. I was expecting to be much further behind.

Middle Distance. The map and terrain were great. The nav went well, except for a big error at cp 6 (2-2.5 mins). It wasn't so bad that I made the initial error, but I am disappointed that decided to continue running after realizing something was wrong. I think I could have easily kept it to a 1 min error. I enjoyed this race, but maybe too much. I think I could have pushed harder through lots of this. Too busy enjoying the woods and the nav.

I didn't intend to be out so long, but 20 minutes into my run I bumped into some Harriers just starting a run. Ran with them for 1 hr and then headed home. Balls of my right foot are a bit sore, but I'm feeling good otherwise.
