fairly easy but laboured at times, stopped to take photos of bluebells and so on, right achilles a bit tight early on, (23.9°)

full-length brown course on very warm day (21°), three misses some poor compass work in vague areas and a loss of concentration (mind-melt) cost the best part of 5mins, out of date vegetation mapping plus an unmarked path didn't help

4th, 15mins behind Rich Robinson, 9 behind Alastair L

muscles felt weird across the first field, especially right leg, thought I might have to abandon, but it sorted itself out, more terrain in the mix today and three visits to the trig point, pleasant, then I slipped on a stile and - almost - did myself some serious damage tipping over the other side, scraped the inside of left knee
