Orienteering (NAOC 2012 sprint) 28:53 [5] *** 2.7 km (10:42 / km) +69m 9:29 / km
spiked:10/20c slept:8.0 weight:115kg shoes: INOV-8 Oroc 280

So had 2 mistakes ). one of them was a 2 minute mistake which made me slow down to a walk... so there went my chance of doing great.
Mistake 1, went through Rough open land around point 6 lost 45s
Mistake 2, on the way to 11 I wasn't reading the map correctly, thought I was going to be seeing the indistinct trails better, (Forgot ISSOM) ended up on the north side of a swamp back tracked then thought I was on a different trail than I was on and ended up over running the control on the trail, but it made a nice place to attack from.

12->13 I walked because my energy was waning, regained it and then ran the rest of the course after 13.

Orienteering long (NAOC 2012 Long) 3:54:09 [4] *** 13.2 km (17:44 / km) +600m 14:27 / km
spiked:9/26c slept:7.5 weight:114kg shoes: INOV-8 Oroc 280

My body was sore before the start of the course. Afterwards it was shot.
I started off pretty strong, I kept my head the whole course. Lost contact with the map at one point but new that If I kept heading north I would know exactly where I was.
I had three mistakes but they where planned route choices just bad forethought. on 9-10 I planned to cross the seasonal marsh but it took a little longer due to me not wanting to go under the water (ended up finding a beaver damn and running across). on 16 I ran to the cliff instead of to one side. and 21 I ran to close to the lack and was fighting briers where as if i went down the trail another 100m i would have had clear running.

Orienteering race (NAOC 2012 - Middle) 1:26:22 [4] *** 4.94 km (17:29 / km) +165m 14:59 / km
spiked:5/20c slept:6.0 weight:115kg shoes: INOV-8 Oroc 280

First Day Of NAOC 2012, Felt pretty good, the model the day before really prepared me for the race in at least knowing the vegetation on the maps was super accurate compared to most USA maps.

I had a few problem areas, 3 I miss counted, 10 I went to the wrong side of a thick patch and kept drifting down hill went back to 9 then found point no problem, 18 I went down the hill instead of contouring which drained all remaining energy in my body.

I twisted my ankle somewhere which made my right calf tense most of the weekend.
