swam in a lane with a row of flags parallel to the lane's direction, directly overhead. this helped do scissor leg drills on the back, which were super-helpful and fun.

I move very slowly through the water when doing the leg drills. They are worth it, however, since they help my crawl form a lot. I need to learn how to breathe without swallowing the nasty chlorinated water. The ear plugs keep the water out, I need to make sure they stay in throughout the workout.

crawl, breaststroke, leg drills for crawl with a board. i need to figure out how to prevent water from getting trapped in the ears. the swimming cap might help. I should also try ear plugs. i love how warm the air temperature is here in Santa Barbara when I get out of an outdoor pool, even in the middle of winter. I should get my body used to the chlorine slowly.
