Upon returning from a day trip to Bantam for bread, deli lunch and respite at White Memorial with Susan, we saw that a large white truck was again stuck across Washburn Road about 200m north and downhill from our driveway. It looks like the same truck that was stuck there two weeks ago exiting the same steep driveway. After watching traffic turning around for about 15 minutes, I called the Canton police who acknowledged hearing of the stuck truck but rued that they were shorthanded and that at least Simsbury police were able to deflect traffic on their end of Washburn (Notch in Simsbury). It was another 15 minutes before one Canton cruiser appeared. Meanwhile, I got a shot of the Canton ambulance, while on its way to Simsbury (without lights or siren), take about six back-and-forths to turn around on the narrow route and seek and alternate route.
