Up.

Orienteering race 1:11:59 [4] 12.41 km (5:48 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons 212s

CSC qualifier at Tentsmuir. Interesting bit of forest with very thin strips of contour detail and then blocks of flat 'white' forest in between. A lot of the route choice was just a bit random in my opinion as it was whether you run round the path or cut straight through these blocks. The runnability of said blocks seemed to vary massively and so got a bit random as to whether it was good to go straight or not. For example on 6 I went pretty much straight whereas Tim (admittedly running much faster but still) went round the paths and took nearly 2 minutes out of me despite me not missing it at all. Aside from that made a really stupid error at 14 where I ran round the back of it and then got annoyed as i can't navigate and haven't been able to for a while it seems.

Orienteering 43:36 [3] 6.25 km (6:59 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons 212s

Some loops around a few small blocks of forest in a country park kind of thing. Varying degrees of enjoyability but none of them very hard.

Orienteering 35:17 [4] 5.16 km (6:50 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons 212s

Mass start around Abbey Craig as BUCS training. Started off well running at the front but then missed one slightly low and then saw the next control as it turned out thinking it was the previous and then got super confused as I left it looking for the next one. Decided to keep going so i'd stay in the pack but then immediately got super confused at some gaffling when I was dead on line for my control but saw everyone else off to the left and just stupidly ran over to them. Was hanging off the back for the rest of the first loop. Second loop again started well but then made several misses and ended up off the back by myself and rather annoyed at my inability to orienteer.

Orienteering 30:00 [4] 6.8 km (4:25 / km)
shoes: Asics trainers

Sprintervals around Pollock, Dumbiedykes and the new bit of map that Nixon did. Good fun although not navigating too well. Got screwed over by a closed gates on the first loop and then a great big fence on the second loop where I thought I'd found a sneaky quicker route but then couldn't get to the control thanks to the construction fence. A guy walking past kindly lifted the fence up for me so i could crawl underneath. Taken Ali's data as my watch died.
