Croeso day 5. Much better run today. Still lost a bit of time on a couple on the slope but no more than 20 seconds. Lost maybe 1.40 on #8 by being incredibly slow and hesitant along the slope. Similar on #9, too low as well. Minute lost on #19 by going left through the green. Still pleased though. Finished 5th and 10th overall which is okay but 3 average at best runs at the start of the week weren't good enough really.

Croeso day 4. Bit of a shocker. Good going to #1 until I was about 100m away at which point I lost my compass slightly and ran pretty close to it but past and had to turn round. 1.30 lost. Again similar story to #5 this time lost it slightly earlier and drifted quite far south and couldn't relocate with all the mist and the only feature I could see being a depression, not helpful. 5 minutes lost. Bad to #6, barely following compass at all and going way too far left, 3 minutes gone. Luckiest control ever on #10. No idea where i was and happened to see someone 15 metres up the hill drop into a pit which happened to be mine when i went to check it. Overshot #11 and #12, 30 seconds and 2 minutes lost. Okay to the finish when the French (?) guy caught me 12 minutes so had a bit of a race with him. Nightmare run really didn't enjoy it with the rain and constant tussocks. Definately my day to drop.

Croeso day 3. 3 minute mistake to #1 by going too far around the hill and then dropped down to the path to recover. Thought my race was over already. Improved a bit but still made other mistakes although not as big. Probably lost around 6-7 minutes total. Thought I was doing much worse out in the forest than I actually did. Managed to be very consistently average this week. 12th, 13th and 12th so far :)

Croeso day 2. Again started well and held it well through the middle part of the course. Didn't think it was too hard really, just a case of pick the big hill or re-entrant by the control and run to it. Lost 30 seconds on #21 after I must have run right past the depression as it was on a fairly slim strip of raised land and had to turn round. Lost a minute on #22 after I lost concentration due to the mistake and knowing Rich Robinson who'd started 2 minutes after me must be close behind. Just ran out of #21 the wrong direction and ended up looping round too far and also getting slowed down by the marsh I ran through. Better today but still not as good as id have liked. Also am definitely just slower than the other guys, understandably.
